WTF...we live 5 minutes from NYC!!! There are a billion restaurants for us to choose from and yet we don't go to new places. Well...that's about to stop. We have gathered our friends and decided to only go to new restaurants. In this blog, We'll rate and talk about our scrumptious journeys!!!
Tonight!!
peasantnyc.com
We used Opentable.com for the reservations and it said they either had 6:00 PM or 10:30 open so I thought it would be packed when we got there. Michelle and I stepped through the door at about 6:10 and there were ZERO people there. Not sure what the deal was with open table but Michelle and I didn't care. We were freakin hungry and thirsty for an adult beverage. The staff was extremely friendly (maybe b/c we were the only ones in the place)...we got a nice bottle of wine and ordered the followingappetizer: Pumpkin gnocchi with mushrooms
dinners: stuffed quail for me and ossobucco for Michelle.
Gnocchi was freakin amazing!! lite and heavy at the same time...deliciously scrumptious...we both cleaned our plates.
Stuffed Quail had was also tasty...not sure how you get that much meat out of a tiny bird but I imagined the little quails doing pushups and squats before they were captured for our dinner.
The ossobucco just flaked off of the bone!!
Peasant is a great restaurant and the ambience is very welcoming!!! Lotsa large wood furniture, fireplace, etc.
Everyone should go!!
